Best Food Spots in London

Took a trip down to London and I was determined to eat as much as I could on the trip. So I went round some of the best eats in the city, here’s where I went:

Brisket Bun from Smokestak

Best BBQ: Smokestack

Kicking off with the best visit of the entire trip! Smokestak are based over in Shoreditch and the interiors are stunning, I love the rustic old wooden furniture and interiors. Honestly some of the nicest images I think from the trip, and best of all it tasted amazing. The brisket melted in my mouth and the flavours were unbelievable. I ordered the brisket bun with pickled red chilli and also the Skin-on chips with aioli, highly recommend it. Also pictured is the pulled pork bun with green chilli slaw and we also got given some beautifullllll cuts of brisket (I think) that got given to us and was unreallllllll.

Fairfax Sandwich from EggSlut

Best Breakfast Sandwich: EggSlut

Now I can’t lie, the whole reason of m coming to London was probably to give EggSlut a try, and boy did it live up to expectations. Perfect start to the day, they just need a site a bit closer to home now! I had the fairfax which has cage-free soft scrambled eggs and chives, cheddar cheese, caramelised onions and sriracha mayo in a warm brioche bun. I also got added bacon. The eggs were super creamy and delicious and I loved the bit of spice in them as well. Then as a side, I got the hashbrown bites, super crispy could have just kept on eating them ngl…

The Black Pig

Best Sandwich: The Black Pig

Took my first trip to Borough Market and had to go check out The Black Pig for their sandwiches. First, bite since getting off the train and it hit the spot perfectly, beautifully delicious pulled pork in a crispy and soft toasted ciabatta. Want to try the truffle honey and Parmesan one next time though as that looked amazing too!

Also, shout out to Borough Market there looked so many cool food spots which I had my eye on, had a cheeky top off at bread ahead for their amazing doughnuts (I went for an Eton mess one).

Best Brunch: The Good Egg

The Good Egg Sabih

If you’re wanting something different for your brunching needs you need to head to The Good Egg, sometimes I feel 90% of places do a really good eggs Benedict so I want to go to places that offer brunches that are a lil bit different. That’s why I’m recommending The Good Egg and I got the Sabih (v): Fluffy pita stuffed with tahini, amba, zhoug, dak dak, fudgy egg, pickles + fried aubergine. Yes, it’s as delicious as it sounds.

Best Mexican: Tacos El Pastor

Located in the super cool Coal Drops Yard near Kings Cross Station was a perfect end to the first day. Recommend the tuna tacos, just absolutely beautiful flavours and we went for the pork and the chicken tacos as well. Just unreal and when having Mexican a margarita is an essential item.

Interiors at Tacos El Pastor

Best Bao: Bao

Love a bao bun and the fried chicken ones from Bao are insane, beautifully crispy and light. The one I went to was just by Borough Market. The highlight was the mushroom rice though. To be honest it was quite hard choosing what to go for because it all sounded amazing!

Additional food spots:

Bleecker Burgers

Sky Garden (Drinks & views)

Burger & Beyond Burgers

Dumpling Shack

Pleasant Lady

Flank

Monty’s Deli

Yum Bum

Padella

Brindisa Grill

Summary
